'Tis the Season! Mid Year Total =1,521!

The holiday spirit was alive & well in our classroom this week!  We finally finished all of our mid year testing & then we were free to have fun, fun, fun & boy did we!  :)  We had our Winter party & had 4 parents come in to help-it was awesome!  :)
I got so many love/holiday notes & gifts from my kiddos & coworkers this week!  Everyone really knows how to make a girl feel loved!  What I loved most of all was all the sweet, sweet messages in my cards & what I LOVED even more was how many of my sweet kids brought in things for Mady-it warmed my heart to know that they thought of her too!  She also got a present from her "boys" & it was perfect!  :)
We had Polar Express/PJ day this week.  Carmike Wynnsong donated popcorn for the WHOLE 1st grade, two shouts out to Mrs. Sebastian for arranging it & picking it up!  I got my bags together & the bags for Mrs. Smith's class too since she was nice enough to let us watch the movie in her room.  :)  I also watched both of our classes so she could go to her son Gavin's Winter party.  I arranged for Mrs. Augustus to watch Mrs. Brown's class for a few minutes so she could come & enjoy our classroom party.  :) We also had tons of parents that sent in juice boxes.  The most amazing part of the whole day was that we got mail directly from the North Pole-it was STILL COLD!  Santa sent us bells from Rudolph's harness so we always remember to BELIEVE & be kind to others!  :)  Madylyn also got a very cool letter from Santa Clause this week!
Steele's Mom sent in lots of school supplies for our classroom-these will come in very handy since we're running so low.
We sent 1 BD card & then a whole pack of special 50th BD cards to Mrs. Mary Lynn-our curriculum facilitator at our school.  I also gave my secret pal-Mrs. Yoder a BD card.  :)
We also did a LOT of Get Well cards-we still have a lot of sickness going on.  :P
Mady "donated" (w/o her knowledge) a lot of toys to the prize bin.  ;)
We got to do so many fun things this week-one was an elf "application".  Mrs. Smith let me borrow her sample so I could clean out my insane "In Box" instead of having to make my own.  :)
I traded hall duty mornings with Mrs. Hall so she could get on the road earlier when she was going to visit her Mom.  :)
The PTSA donated a microwave to our school since the other one died & gave the classroom teachers some book for their classes.  :)
We sprayed for fleas at our house & my Mom took care of EVERYTHING-have I ever mentioned she is AWESOME!  She also helped a little old lady put something up so she didn't have to get out of her Hover Round when we were grocery shopping yesterday.  I got to help a little old lady find Hominy for her son & took it to her in the store. ;)
Finally, we did our weekly recycle for K & 1st grade.
I am SO PROUD of my kiddos & all the AOKs they have done this first semester.  We are over our half way mark goal and I am so excited to think we might surpass our goal!!!
Merry Christmas!

Busy, Busy, Busy! (1,369!) :)

This week Mady loaned us her Polar Express book & movie for our annual Polar Express/PJ movie.  :) My mom, Mady & I got to do our annual tradition of ringing the bell for Salvation Army-we had beautiful weather!  :)  Shawn helped me make my spelling/amazing words into magnets during Mady's dance class.  :)  I LOVE how my family works together & do AOKs for others.  :)
Mrs. Hickerson was so sweet to my Boo she gave me some lip gloss & a Hello Kitty toy for Mady that her daughter had outgrown.  :)  I am going to put them in her stocking.  :)
Mrs. Dolak gave Mady a jingle bell bracelet for me to put in her stocking-I was SO EXCITED b/c I tried to order them online & they were sold out-Mrs. Hickerson had given it to Mrs. Dolak & when I asked her where she got it b/c I wanted to give Mady one she just gave it to me-she just fools people into thinking she's mean!  LOL!  ;)  She also took a backpack to one of my kiddos that was sick.  :)
'Tis the season-for sickness-we made 7 Get Well cards this week-including to two of our kiddos.  :P  My friend Nicole's little one was sick & I did her parker duty for her-SO GLAD he's feeling better! :)
I got 2 love notes from my kiddos-I LOVE hanging this in my office to look at while I'm working.  It makes my heart happy!  :)
I gave my friend Jenn a Get Well card-she's been having some health issues as of late & is having surgery after the holidays.  :P I also gave my friend Laurie a sympathy card for the passing of her father.  :(
Mady got her 1st Christmas present from her Auntie Caryn!  It was a gift card-the first one she's ever gotten & she is SO EXCITED about all the possibilities!  ;)  I also got my first C-mas present this week from Brody's family-an Olive Garden gift card-which we will promptly be using next Tuesday to go to dinner with the girls!  :)  Steele brought in holiday cookies to share this week.  :)
I passed along some TRU coupons to my friend Laurie for her boys.  I also let her borrow some craft supplies for her class while they're working on their C-mas presents.  :)  Her son Gavin helped me wrap my parent volunteer gifts this week.  :)  We LOVE that sweet family!  :)
I loaned one of my teacher friends some shapes for her observation.  :)
After a fun weekend of baking I got to take all my Christmas "goodies" to school to deliver them to the secretaries, principals, my IA & my 1st grade team-too much fun!  :)  Finally, I also got to put my kiddos C-mas presents together Friday afternoon-I can't WAIT for them to come in Monday morning & see their faces when they see their presents!  :)
We had our usual book volunteer, Mr. Preston & Mrs. Pasca come in this week.  :)
It has either been pouring down rain or FREEZING this week but we braved the cold weather yesterday to go recycle for K & 1st.  :)
We're looking forward to getting our testing out of the way & having a week full of fun next week.  :)  It will be CRAZY but in a MAGICAL sort of way!  :)  We have a super fun surprise planned for one of my friend's 50th BD on Wednesday!  :)

We LOVE the Holidays! :) (1,241!)

What a week!  We have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!  :)
Mrs. Hall's mother had to go the ER last weekend.  She was in ICU for a while & she has been moved to a nursing home for a couple of weeks.  Mrs. Hall asked if 1st grade could make some Get Well/Holiday cards to brighten up her room at the nursing home-so of course we wanted to do that!  :)
I got 4 Love notes from my kiddos this week.  :)  We made 6 Get Well cards this week.  We also made 2 BD cards.  :)
I passed along 6 coupons to Mrs. Crawford.  :)  I also got a new purse (YEAH!)  & my Mom wanted my old one so I gave it to her.  :)  I also donated our monthly pop tops to Ronald McDonald house.  :)
Mrs. Pasca donated a bunch of treasures for our treasure bin & a ton of books for our classroom library.  The kids were SO EXCITED!  :)  She also came in to volunteer this week!  So did Mr. Preston & Mrs. Nolasco.  Mr. Myers & Mrs. Gentry also came in.  Our book volunteer came in as well.  (I keep forgetting to add these people up-so I am "reporting" for the last 4 weeks.  ;)  Mr. Holloway helped me do TONS of stuff this week while Mady had dance class Wednesday night.  :)
We also got to make Christmas cards for our friend Ellyn in Africa.  :)  We're hoping to Face Time with her soon!  The kids LOVE to get Thank-You cards in the mail & I must say they got the COOLEST Thank-You Ever this week.  Nevaeh's Uncle surprised the class with a Thank-You Face Time message on Tuesday-it was AWESOME!  I have never seen the kids so shy, surprised & excited!  ;)
This week Mrs. Smith needed to run home for a few minutes Monday so I watched her class during recess & took them to lunch for her.  :)  We also got her a BD present-I finally settled on a Christmas tree scented candle & a book from an author I love-hopefully she will too.  :)  We went to her son Hayden's band concert on Tuesday-they were very good!  :)
Sadly her father passed away Tuesday afternoon.  First grade & friends got her a card & donated a book in his memory to the library.  The whole school is collecting money for her family to be able to provide meals on the day of his graveside service.  I LOVE the way our whole school comes together when one of our school family members' heart is hurting!  :)
Finally, our recycling bins were OVERFLOWING & we figured everyone else's was too so we braved the rain & went to recycle for K & 1st today.  :)
