The holiday spirit was alive & well in our classroom this week! We finally finished all of our mid year testing & then we were free to have fun, fun, fun & boy did we! :) We had our Winter party & had 4 parents come in to help-it was awesome! :)
I got so many love/holiday notes & gifts from my kiddos & coworkers this week! Everyone really knows how to make a girl feel loved! What I loved most of all was all the sweet, sweet messages in my cards & what I LOVED even more was how many of my sweet kids brought in things for Mady-it warmed my heart to know that they thought of her too! She also got a present from her "boys" & it was perfect! :)
We had Polar Express/PJ day this week. Carmike Wynnsong donated popcorn for the WHOLE 1st grade, two shouts out to Mrs. Sebastian for arranging it & picking it up! I got my bags together & the bags for Mrs. Smith's class too since she was nice enough to let us watch the movie in her room. :) I also watched both of our classes so she could go to her son Gavin's Winter party. I arranged for Mrs. Augustus to watch Mrs. Brown's class for a few minutes so she could come & enjoy our classroom party. :) We also had tons of parents that sent in juice boxes. The most amazing part of the whole day was that we got mail directly from the North Pole-it was STILL COLD! Santa sent us bells from Rudolph's harness so we always remember to BELIEVE & be kind to others! :) Madylyn also got a very cool letter from Santa Clause this week!
Steele's Mom sent in lots of school supplies for our classroom-these will come in very handy since we're running so low.
We sent 1 BD card & then a whole pack of special 50th BD cards to Mrs. Mary Lynn-our curriculum facilitator at our school. I also gave my secret pal-Mrs. Yoder a BD card. :)
We also did a LOT of Get Well cards-we still have a lot of sickness going on. :P
Mady "donated" (w/o her knowledge) a lot of toys to the prize bin. ;)
We got to do so many fun things this week-one was an elf "application". Mrs. Smith let me borrow her sample so I could clean out my insane "In Box" instead of having to make my own. :)
I traded hall duty mornings with Mrs. Hall so she could get on the road earlier when she was going to visit her Mom. :)
The PTSA donated a microwave to our school since the other one died & gave the classroom teachers some book for their classes. :)
We sprayed for fleas at our house & my Mom took care of EVERYTHING-have I ever mentioned she is AWESOME! She also helped a little old lady put something up so she didn't have to get out of her Hover Round when we were grocery shopping yesterday. I got to help a little old lady find Hominy for her son & took it to her in the store. ;)
Finally, we did our weekly recycle for K & 1st grade.
I am SO PROUD of my kiddos & all the AOKs they have done this first semester. We are over our half way mark goal and I am so excited to think we might surpass our goal!!!
Merry Christmas!
Mid Year Total =1,521!!!
