Wk 27-Germs, Germs & More Germs :P (1,074)

Well, the stomach virus hit our house AGAIN for the 2nd time this wk with a vengeance!  :P  As a result I was only with the kids one day this wk. so a lot of AOKs didn't get done.  :P  Last wk. we went  to the Children's Discovery Museum & when we got home my Mom had cleaned our whole house.  :)  Mrs. Smith printed out my sub plans for me again.  :)  I was able to give her some dried fruit for her & her crew when they go hiking and...that's IT!  :P  Hopefully, this sickness is all past us & we will be back on the AOK train next wk!  :)

Wk 26-LOVE is in the Air & WE'RE OVER 1,000! :) (1,073)

This wk we celebrated Valentine's wk in class.  I was out 2 days due to the awful stomach bug that finally overcame our house.  :P  I really enjoyed being back & getting to celebrate a day full of love with them.  It was fun giving them treats & also sending some treats to Mady's teachers & friends at school.  :)  Our Read with Me Volunteer also gave the kids Valentines & my Mom made them all cross-stitched book marks that read, "I LOVE READING!"  It was SO SWEET of them!  :)  We also got sticker books from our pen pals-it was SO VERY SWEET & such a nice surprise!  :)  It was also sweet getting to have dinner with my loves & giving Mady her Valentine present.  :)  We also got to send my brother a BD card-he's a Valentine baby!  :)
Sunday I got to help a lady at the zoo that had left her phone in the restroom.  :)
This wk Luis brought in some Peanut Butter for our drive.  Mrs. Davis gave me a BEAUTIFUL box from the school honoring me as Teacher of the Year.  :)  My friend Laurie printed out my lesson plans for me twice this week & ALSO did my Hall Duty for me this wk.  I got to return just a little bit of the favor by giving her a big air popcorn set & a jar opener she's been needing.  Kennedy also did an AOK by donating toys to needy children.  :)  
One of my former students saw how close we were to reaching 1,000 Acts of Kindness.  He sent me 7 box tops to make our goal of 1,000!  :)  We sent him a thank-you card this wk.  :)  We also got to go to a great program by Mrs. Smith's parents about black bears.  We sent them a thank-you card for the program.  :)   Kennedy made a BD card for her sister.  :)  The kids also made Mady a get well card & I got, as well as Mady some awesome Valentine's gifts.  :)
We started a Get Well card for Mrs. Smith's little boy-Gavin-he has strep throat.  :P
We did our regular recycling this wk for K & 1st grade.  :)

Wk 25-Peanut Butter, Box Tops & Cards! Oh My! (993) :)

The kiddos were busy this wk.  I love their sweet hearts & spirits!  :)  We are having a peanut butter drive to support 2nd Harvest food bank.  Lydia & Braydon brought in 4 jars of peanut butter.  :)  The kids made 14 Get Well cards & 2 BD cards-one for our volunteer, Mrs. Burgess & one for a fellow 1st grade teacher, Ms. Russell, all of these were the boys & girl's ideas!  :)  We also collected Box Tops this week & the kids collected 325 ($32.50) for our school!  Way to go boys & girls!  :)  Finally, the sun came out just in time for us to recycle for K & 1st grade this afternoon!  :)
We also several acts of kindness done for us.  :)  Ms. Fitz got us a very cute "LOVE" sign for our classroom.  It lights up and the kids love to watch it change colors especially with the lights off.  She also gave me some batteries for Mady's toys-very sweet.  :)  We have a Kid's Hope volunteer starting with one of our students next week.  She's incredibly sweet & she brought me a dishcloth she had knit, a pencil & some candy for Mady when I got to meet her this week.  It was SO SWEET!  :)  My Mom made my students very cute bookmarks for Valentine's Day that say I LOVE to read!  The kids are going to LOVE them!   :)  These 5 day weeks are hard (LOL) but I love it when we have a week full of AOKs!  :)

Wk 24-First Full Wk in Forever-955

We actually had a full wk this wk!  A while back I gave my students kindness counts certificates like Mady uses at Little Gym to fill out if they chose to.  I had some students bring some in this wk:  Spencer shared special apple clips with his sister.  :)  Levi helped make a meal for a needy family.  He brought a cart back to the store that was left in the parking lot.  He helped pray for a sick friend.  He also helped take the Christmas decorations down at church.  Way to go boys, I am SO PROUD of you! :)  Mrs. Smith shared her 100 day trail mix with me-I brought it home for Mady & my afternoon snack-YUM!  :)  My friend Paige copied something for me this wk so I wouldn't have to do it myself-it saved me SO much time & I really appreciated it!  :)  Also we had a hard couple of days in our classroom toward the end of the wk & we had a lot of assistance from my colleagues-they mean so much to me!  :) On a personal note-I received a HUGE Act of Kindness from the staff at Cedar Bluff when they voted me K-2 Teacher of the Year!  It was such a HUGE surprise & honor!  :)
Mady made her Auntie Caryn & Uncle Dave a special dessert when we went to visit them this weekend.  Of course they had something special for Mady too-a new coloring book, princess crayons & a cute owl craft.  :)
My kids actually got to recycle this week and man those bins were overflowing!  ;)
It was nice to get back into the swing of things!  :)
