Week 26 & 27-We're @ 617! :)

All the germs finally got to me & I got sick & now it's Spring Break so I'm a little behind on posting.  :P
BUT-We have been keeping busy in Room 311!  We have recycled twice.  We wrote 2 Get Well cards for two of our students-one with pneumonia & one w/ the dreaded sinus stuff!  :P  Finally, we wrote letters to a class in Indiana-they were doing a writing project & wrote us to learn about TN.  In our letters we told them about our AOK projects & the kids said they wanted to do something nice for them so...I remembered some Easter pencils I had bought for my kids & I told them we could send them to the class in IN & I would replace them.  They were very excited to send them!  We're currently @ 617-when we get back to school we only have 40 1/2 days left so it will be interesting to see how many AOKs we can do before the end of the yr.  :)

Week 25

This wk we were busy making Get Well cards.  I guess w/ the weather & the time of yr. it can't be helped! :P
We made Get Well cards for a family friend that recently had a stroke-this was the kid's idea.  I must say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that they have taken ownership of this project & that this is where their minds go to first-I hope it's something that ALWAYS stays w/ them.  In my mind THIS is how you change the world-one kid @ a time!  :)
We also made a Get Well card for one of our little guys that wasn't feeling so hot...the stomach bug has hit our classroom w/ a vengence! :P
With all of our crazy weather we didn't get a chance to recycle this Friday but hopefully will Monday.  Ps.  My kids TOTALLY wanted to go recycle while we were in the cubbies under a tornado warning-now THAT'S dedication!  ;)
